Community Merit Award - Dot McLennan

Dot has lived in Fort McMurray for a number of years. When she first arrived in Fort McMurray she lived with her brother and sister-in-law. But she had a dream of becoming independent and she never lost sight of that dream. That dream kept her going and inspired her! With support dot found a job, and then she found a semi-independent group living. Then she fought to move into a more independent home. Dot now lives independently and recently found her true love and got married. That's a story with a happy ending. Way to go, Dot! Dot is an inspiration to all us us to not give up when life gets us down but keep on focusing on the goal!
