Congratulations to winners of the Community Recognition Awards at the November 2007 Northeast Alberta Community Board PDD Regional Conference in Bonnyville!

Community Merit Award – Brenda Johnson

Brenda graduated high school in Grassland. since her graduation she has volunteered in the communities of Athabasca, Grassland and Atmore. Brenda is always willing to give her time to help others. The Athabasca Community Council takes pride in presenting Brenda with the 2007 Merit Award.

Community Service Award – Enerpor Insulation

In 2000, Enerpro hired one individual affected by a developmental disability. Since then, a total of eight individuals have been employed full time, part time or on a trial basis. Enerpro is a supporter of Special Olympics. The staff and management are very understanding of the needs of persons with disabilities. The Athabasca Community Council takes great pride inpresenting the 2007 Service Award to Tony Giardino of Enerpro Insulation.
