At the Whitecourt Community Council Meeting on September 20, 2007 people talked about the following business:

Transportation

There was discussion of concerns that the Dial-a-bus service may be in trouble. The Mayor stated at the August council meeting that it would be reviewed in December. It seemed that the Mayor thought the service cost too much. The Council agreed to talk to candidates for Town Council about this. The Mayor also said that transportation may become an election issue.

NE PDD Board

Don Fleming talked about the Conference as a time of learning and getting to know each other.

Whitecourt and Area Transit Society was selected for the Service Award. Lisa Sherren was selected for the Merit Award.

Self Advocacy

Dale and Candy will attend the Regional Co-Chairs meeting in Whitecourt on September 22.They will report to Council at the Oct 4 meeting at the Town Office.
