At the Westlock Community Council Meeting on April 4, 2007 people talked about the following business:

Old Business

Affordable Housing/Home Program: Patty has contacted Brian Finley to come to the September meeting.

AISH: Bonnie will have an AISH worker come to a fall meeting.

AACL Conference: There were many informative workshops, as well as lots of dancing. One workshop, ‘Spread Your Wings’, was a new way to look at community inclusion. Brenda has a book, ‘Making a Difference.’ Anyone that want to borrow it can do so.

New Business

The next meeting will be changed to a morning meet at 11:30 am on June 4, 2007.

Patty will contact Community Development to see if we could get a facilitator for the next meeting to help with planning.

The Board would like to meet with co-chairs in June. The date is not yet selected.

Community Updates

WJS: The curling team went to the Ford Men’s World Curling on April 3 to watch Canada play Norway.

PDD: Brochures for Community Council are in the process of being made.

Friends First: The Treasurer resigned. Brenda has volunteered to assist Jason and Lisa in getting things started in Westlock.

Good News

• Darlene is swimming.
• Allan is looking for work and is bowling weekly.
• KJ will be taking an Agriculture course at Lakeland College in Vermilion.
• KJ will be going to Prince Edward Island for three months. She is leaving on April 24.

Next Meeting

The next meeting will be June 4, 2007 at 11:30 – 1:00 at Bonnie’s Office. This will be a lunch meeting.
