At the Barrhead Community Council Meeting on June 18, 2007 people talked about the following business:

Social and Membership Committee

Scott reported that the Council received $148.00 from the car wash. Thank you to Cody and Wayne for hosting a BBQ for all the volunteers who helped at the car wash.

Community Council picnic in the park is on Sunday Aug 19, 2007.

On July 5, 2007 Council has been invited to Whitecourt Community Council to help them with their brochure. They will give us information about their new bus system.

Regional Co-Chair Meeting

Harold said that it was a good meeting and they shared the Community Council budget. They met other councils and made plans to stay connected.

Self Advocacy Conference

The Conference was held on June 20 -22. Eight people from the Barrhead area went to the conference.

Community Council Budget

The Barrhead Community Council budget was approved for April 1, 2007 until March 31, 2008.

Northeast Alberta PDD

Effective April 1, 2008 there will be some changes to how transportation costs are provided. When the details are worked out, this will be presented to Council.

Glenn Hennig has been named as the new Board Chair for NE PDD. He has been a board member for a few years.

Transportation to Meeting

Scott said that everyone should try to find their own way to the meetings because staff are not a taxi service. People wanted a more central place to hold the meeting. Don will see if the meeting can be held at Hillcrest for September.
