At the Barrhead Community Council Meeting on April 16, 2007 people talked about the following business:

Social and Membership Committee

Scott reported that brochures have been developed and they will be available to the community at the upcoming Trade Show.

Regional Co-Chair Meeting

Steven and Harold reported that the group had worked on a logo. Regional Chairs will be able to use the log.

Harold reported that Mike Balaski from PDD shared financial guidelines for Community Boards. Each Community Council need to complete a budget and pass it to Dale Drummond, the CEO of Northeast PDD. There also was discussion about transportation, housing and connecting with other communities.

Trade Fair

The Council is waiting to hear if they will receive capacity money from PDD. There is a booth lined up and people are preparing for this. Blue Heron accepted the Council’s offer to help with selling refreshments on a portable cart.

Anna Swan from Blue Heron thank the Council for offering to partner with them at the Trade Show. Blue Heron is managing the concession and will use volunteers to man the portable refreshment cart. Blue Heron will give the Council 10% of the profits from the sales. There will be a dress code and all must wear black pants and white shirts.

Community Car Wash

On May 25 & 26 Council will be hosting a community car wash. On the first day there will be a discount for community partners. The first day is a practice day. The second day it will run from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm. If there are enough volunteers they will have a hot dog stand as well.
