At the Bonnyville Community Council Meeting on April 23, 2007 people talked about the following business:

Affordable Housing

Cam reported that the target date for the housing to open is June. Concerns were brought up that only people served by CSS can moving into the house. That would leave out many individuals in the community. Mary Ann brought a concern about the common kitchen area in the housing. She feels it may not teach or promote independence. Sherry said the housing initiative in Westlock covers a cross section of people, and not just people serviced by PDD or one specific group. Cam and Lionel will call a meeting with Vic to clarify some issues.

PDD Update

Sherry spoke of the Regional Community Council Co-Chair group and their regular meetings. Next meeting will be held in St. Paul in June. Bonnyville is the only proposal thus far the the NE Annual PDD Conference.

Community Council Meetings

The group agreed that Community council meetings will be now held monthly instead of every two months. The date will remain the 4th Monday of the month. Sherry will ask David Beale if the meetings could be at the Parent Child Centre/FCSS as this is more central for meetings. Lionel is going to ask Dennis Ducharme to attend the next meeting. Marlene will ask Tara Best to attend the next meeting.
